Documentation · Chapter 01

Verify the
environment.

Confirm that the command, private runtime, cache, and development port are available.

aml doctor

phpaml — zsh
aml doctor

Each line describes one check. An error must be fixed before continuing.

[OK] AML — version 1.7.0-beta.43
[OK] PHP — compatible
[OK] Cache AML — writable
[OK] Development port — available

Choose the language

phpaml — zsh
aml language
aml language fr
aml language en

Without an argument, the command shows the current language. This choice translates the CLI, not your application.

Read the result

  • OK: the check passed.
  • WARNING: an optional capability is limited.
  • ERROR: fix the problem, then run aml doctor again.

HOW TO READ IT

A diagnostic is more than a score.

doctor verifies a chain. The aml command may exist while the cache is not writable; PHP may work while the local port is busy. Read every line, not only the last one.

  1. Find the first errorLater errors may only be consequences.
  2. Fix one cause at a timeAvoid reinstalling everything without understanding.
  3. Run doctor againThe fix is confirmed only when the check passes.

CHECK YOUR UNDERSTANDING

Does a WARNING mean the project can never start?

Show the answer

No. It reports a limitation or optional capability. An ERROR line indicates a blocker to fix.

SUMMARY

What to remember

  • aml doctor verifies the complete local chain.
  • Fix the first error first.
  • aml language changes CLI messages, not website content.
  • Run the diagnostic again after a fix.
