Documentation · Chapter 15

Use AML as the project operator.

AML is the command-line companion to PHPAML. It coordinates creation, runtime installation, generators, local execution, tests, builds, and deployments.

Every lesson starts from the problem, explains the mechanism, then gives a concrete verification.

CLI and framework are different

AML prepares and operates projects; PHPAML handles application requests. Updating AML does not silently rewrite your source code.

LESSON OBJECTIVE

What you will be able to do

Understand the boundary between AML, the framework, project source, and reconstructible runtime.

Find the project root

Commands walk to phpaml.json or require the current project root. A clear root prevents actions against the wrong folder.

Read help before guessing

aml help and command-specific usage are authoritative for the installed version. Documentation should match, but the binary decides available flags.

CHECKPOINT

Before you continue

If AML is updated, which project files may change automatically and which must remain untouched?
